IT’S A RAP! Netflix premiers “Rapture” documentary in March 2018
NAS, LOGIC, T.I., & More to be seen in RAPTURE documentary!
“The definition of Power…is Freedom…if you got Power, you’re Free.” – NAS
The eight-episode series entitled “Rapture”, premiering on March 30 is scheduled to feature artists NAS, Rapsody, Logic and 2 Chainz, to name a few. The documentary will focus on the lives, both personal and professional, giving viewers a chance to gain a unique perspective on Hip Hop and the culture. From studio sessions to hitting the stage, grind time and family time, “Rapture” intends to give you the nitty & gritty experiences on what it really takes to create these exceptional works of art. Also mentioned to appear are Southern rap sensation T.I., Harlem’s own Dave East in addition to G-Eazy and Just Blaze.
“Way back, when hip-hop culture was in its gestational phase, the powerful message therein didn’t go much further than the five boroughs of New York City. Today, rap music is the heartbeat of Mother Earth, and Netflix is the embodiment of the eyes from which she sees,” said Sacha Jenkins of media company Mass Appeal. “It is a great honor for Mass Appeal to work with Netflix to produce our new series Rapture. We’ve been telling hip-hop stories since ’96, and as natives we feel it is our duty to do the movement justice. Rapture is bangin’. Straight up.” (Testimony from BroadcastingCable.com)
The series’ directors are Sacha Jenkins, Ben Selkow, Geeta Gandbhir, Steven Caple Jr., Marcus A. Clarke and Gabriel Noble. The executive producers on the project are Peter Bittenbender, Sacha Jenkins, Ben Selkow, Ben Cotner, Zana Lawrence and Lisa Nishimura.
