James Brown’s
commercial career was in steep decline due to the change in political and racial climate across the country. Brown’s rhythmic innovations had a major influence on most popular music styles, including R & B, soul, funk, disco, rock ‘n’ roll and, of course Hip Hop. James Brown’s moves and records became cult favorites of a fresh, budding Hip Hop generation and thanks to the DJs, he becomes one of the most sampled artists in Hip-Hop history.
